E-Tech Group Financial Update

Creditors Support E-Tech in CVA Process

On the 5th Oct 2012, 97% of the companies creditors agreed by vote to accept a CVA (Company Voluntary Agreement) proposal to allow the business to trade out of a difficult situation it had found itself in.

As a result the company will continue to trade to satisfy the debt of the existing creditors in the agreed manor and to re-establish trading terms with our suppliers. We are looking forward to continuing our relationships with our many clients and to build upon these as well as exploring many new oportunities that are opening up to us.

E-Tech Group win international award

One of the East of Englands leading industry awards are the annual business awards run by the EDP (Eastern Daily Press), the UK's largest regional newspaper. E-Tech have been finalist previously and this year we were again delighted to be selected as finalist in the International Enterprise category which was sponsored by Grant Thornton.

At the awards ceremony held at the Holiday Inn Norwich we were announced as overall winners and recieved an impressive award. Teamwork and consistant quality of service is the reason we have been successful and this is down to everyone in E-Tech Group.

 

 

 


 

Monaco Yacht Show 2011

The E-Tech Group yacht and marketing teams have all returned home after a fantastic week at the Monaco Yacht Show. Even before the show opened we were invited to a meeting to discuss a major conversion project. This set the scene for the week, with interest and enquiries coming from all sides. The feeling at the show was buoyant with real optimism for a bright future in this exciting and vibrant sector.


 

 

Offshore Europe

E-Tech Group was again at Europes largest Oil & Gas conference and exhibition held every 2 years in Aberdeen. With more than 50,000 visitors ond over 2000 exhibitors it was extremely busy and full of optimism for the future of the industry, E-Tech were on the EEEGr stand in hall 5 and were pleased to see many clients old and new.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

NEW VENTURE

E-Tech Group has entered into a strategic joint venture with Cougar Automation and TCS. The aim of this exciting new initiative is to offer clients in the water industry access to a complete solution from control automation provided by Cougar to control panels from TCS and full electrical installation and contracting from E-Tech.

RENEWED SUCCESS

Having recently commited to becoming a recognised "micro" renewable energy systems installer, E-Tech Group's Building Services or HVAC division is pleased to have awarded a large 360kw biomass system for Norwich's St Johns Cathedral. This will be our largest biomass system installation to date and is scheduled to be commissioned in March 2010.

QUALITY CHANGES

In keeping with the requirements of our accreditted QA audutors, SGS, and to comply with the changes to the ISO9001 standard, E-Tech Group have successfully completed the requirements of the latest issue and are now fully certified to ISO9001:2008. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, based in Norwich, recently invited E-Tech Group Director, Gary Williams to take a position on their main board to represent the manufacturing and engineering industry sector in Norfolk. Gary will work with the Chamber to ensure the engineering sector has a voice and will participate in projects which include training and promotional initiatives as well as working with local schools and colleges to keep the sectors profile interesting and positive to ensure we can recruite the engineers of the future. As well as the Chamber, E-Tech are represented at board level in EEEGr, Marine East and the BMF EA.

RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS

E-Tech Group's HVAC and building services division, based in Gt Yarmouth, have committed to adding "micro" renewable energy system installations to their range of services. Training and accreditation is ongoing as is the identification of appropriate and approved products. We have to-date installed several systems for our clients who have required ground heat pumps, biomass and solar systems to ensure their projects meet the governments energy regulations. The last system was the installation of solar thermal panel to our own E-Tech Centre, which now supply all of the hot water for the whole building. Tunisia Nears Completion

E-Tech Group's largest single contract to date is entering the final stages. The contract with British Gas Tunisia which has topped £6m, was awarded last year for complete E&I services for this new onshore LPG process and loading plant being built in Gabes. We have worked in partnership with ODE with whom E-Tech Group have a long history. We have, at the peak had over 85 trades people, technicians and project management staff working in Tunisia. As of October we have virtually de-manned the site leaving only a small team of commissioning engineers, management and documentation staff, whose task it is to finally hand over to the client.

THE CATS WISKERS

A new company in Gt Yarmouth, Alicat Workboats, part of Richards drydock, have awarded E-Tech Group the electrical installation and engineering for their first two aluminium catamarans for windfarm support.

Alicats are the UK, European and USA agents for this Australian design range of vessels which come "flat packed" into the yard, where they are assembled, fitted out and supplied to the customer.

This award is in part due to an initiative by Marine East, the East of England Marine Industry Support Association, to forge supply chain relationships between local companies. Another local company, Goodchild Marine, has also benefited from this.

E-tech Group is extremely pleased with this contract and hopes it will be the first of many.

TOKAI ORDER FOR HULL

We are delighted with the anouncement that our newest facility in Humberside has succesfully negotiated the award of a major conversion on the vessel TOKAI. The vessel is owned and will be operated by Gardline Marine Sciences of Gt Yarmouth, a long standing client of E-Tech Group. The work will be carried out at the Duston Shiprepair facility in Hull and will run well into 2010.

The vessel is being converted from a RoRo container ship to a multipurpose support vessel, primarily for offshore windfarms. E-Tech Group will be designing, building and installing new switchgear and carrying out the extensive electrical conversion project.

A full project facility has been established alongside the vessel and will house one of E-Tech's specialist major project teams.

Both Gardline and Dunston Shiprepair have for some time been valued clients of E-Tech and we see this project as recognitioin of the quality service we are pleased to provide to these and all of our clients.

Greater Gabbard Completed

E-Tech Group (NE) have succesfully completed the electrical installation on the minimum facilities platform and module being constructed at Heerema on Teesside. Initially our client was C&D providing electrical engineering services to the accomodation modules. This was further extended to direct work for Heerema and the main client, Siemens.

 

Further work was secured on the galloper transformer module under construction at NcNulty Offshore on the Tyne supplying cables and electrical bulks.

E-Tech Complete Twin Sisters

Two 43mt Superyachts Caneli and Waterlily in a venture that saw E-Tech Group, Trimline and Southampton yacht Services work together to finish these almost identical vessels which commenced their construction in Aarhus but as a result of difficulties they were moved to Southampton for completion. An extensive amount of electrical work was still outstanding and required close partnerships and liasson with the other contractors to ensure maximum productivity was achieved.

The Yachts are currently sailing the Med.

E-Tech Group wins contract for LPG Plant in Gabes, Tunisia

E-Tech Group have been awarded a £2.7m electrical & instrumentation contract for the new Gabes LPG Offloading, Storage and Export facility for BG Tunisia, a wholly owned subsidiary of the BG Group.

 

Under the contract, E-Tech Group will work closely with the BG Tunisia project team and ODE to plan and implement the complete electrical and instrumentation requirements for this new development. This will include the installation of many kilometers of cable and instrument tubing, lighting, telemetry and alarms within a short construction program.  This will be achieved through combined planning by all parties involved. E-Tech Group will also be responsible for the installation of much of the plant on site including a seventeen section Mv switchboard which will be mounted on special earthquake protection raised deck flooring.

Topping Plant Tops $6m

E-Tech Group's Gulf division in Dubai are currently engaged in an extensive project for a topping out plant in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq, which has now exceed 6 million dollars or almost 3 million pounds sterling.

Working in partnersip with our client we are commited to working on this and other projcts in the area.

The topping plant is being installed at the CPF to produce diesel for consumption at the facilities. Surplus diesel will be sold to the Kurdistan domestic market.

Last Steam Drifter; Lydia Eva Refit

Since 2007 the 98ft fishing boat, built in 1930 and taken out of service in 1968, has been on Small & Co's slipway in Lowestoft for extensive repairs to the metalwork - including 60% of the hull's metal plates.


Other work carried out included new wooden decks, reconstructing the wheelhouse; fitting out the aft cabin; complete engine overhaul, creating an onboard museum, and testing and commissioning the boiler.

 

As well as this there has been a complete new electrical system designed and installed using, where possible, almost forgotten techniques including brass clipping of cables. A new generator, battery bank, control and distribution equipment, alarm and monitoring and a new bridge has all been installed in the least obtrusive manner to allow visitors to this floating museum to experience times gone by.

E-Tech Group win Enterprise Award

E-Tech Group's achievement in outstanding growth was this week recognised by the sponsors of the EnterpriseGY "Spirit of Enterprise Awards" at the awards dinner on the 16th. Having been named as a finalist in the Great Business Growth category against very strong competition we were suprised and very pleased when it was announced that we had won.

 

Well done to everyone at E-Tech Group in each of our locations, it is through everyones effort that we have managed to achieve this recognition.

 

The award was presented by Colin Huggins, General Manager of Archant Norfolk Newspapers (The EDP & Gt Yarmouth Mercury).

 

The award was collected by Gary Williams.

Ghana on the Radar

E-Tech Group have, as of Jan 2008 commited to establishing a base in the ex Commonwealth country The Replublic of Ghana. This follows recent offshore discoveries of substantial oil fields by companies such as Kosmos Energy and is set to become one the major Oil & Gas companies in West Africa. Drilling and exploration is being carried out expensivly and support and service companies are slowly begining to see Ghana on their international radars. E-Tech have secured extensive premises from which we will operate as ETG-Ghana providing logistical and supply services as well as providing warehouse and office accomodation to othe companies wishing to establish a presence in the area.

Now we're flyin'

E-Tech Group's engineering division has just completed a challenging project for a new client, Hovertrans. We were asked to assist in redesigning the electrical system and carry out the installation on a huge "hover barge" under construction at the Ferguson Shipyard on Clydeside. This project required extensive involvement from our technical support team to ensure the existing equipment interphased fully.

Robin Rigg Contract

E-Tech Group's Teesside Division has been awarded a major electrical contract by Oceantean Power & Umbilical for the conversion of their cable laying barge being utilised in the Robin Rigg Offshore Wind Development.

The majority of the work will be carried out the Dutch Shipyard, Damen and completed in the UK. E-Tech Group have supported Oceanteam with feasability and design and will commence work immediatly.

Latest Superyacht Refit

E-Tech Group's UK yacht division have secured a substantial refit project on the Superyacht "Nobla". This vessel has a very interesting background. Firstly it was the first yacht built to allow a helicopter to land on it. Secondly it was for a time owned by the Middle East leader Colonel Ghadafi. The vessel's previous name was "Lac II". The refit is being carried out in Southampton, UK.

Dive Support Vessel

Continuing the recent run of ofshore support vessel conversions E-Tech North East have ben awarded the electrical contract on A&P Tyne's latest contract for the Type 641-Dive Support Vessel the Orelia. Work will commence on the fabrication of the modules immediatly to be ready for the vessels arrival early 2008.

RFA Succes

RFA vessel Fort Austin, has arrived in the A&P Tyne yard for upgrade and modification works. E-Tech Group have been awarded the electrical work for what is expected to be a fast track project. This is one of several major projects ongoing at A&P Tyne/Tees and wil ensure work for our North East division right through into 2008.

Ship of the Year

The Norwegian Shipbuilding Society have voted the recently constructed Normand Severn ship of the year. This SubSea 7 vessel is currently in dry dock at A&P Tyne being fitted out with extensive deck modules. E-Tech Group NE are carrying out the electrical part of the project which is valued at around £900k.

Off To Sunny Tunisia

E-Tech Group have just been awarded a major electrical contract from Petrofac for the CPF Chergui project. The contract is for the establishment of a new gas reception facility in Tunisia. The contract covers everything from design through to supply of all materials, installation, project management and commisssioning. E-Tech Group has a great deal of experience in this type of contract and has always ensured completion on time and within budgets. The approx value of this award is £1m.

We Are There At Last !

As of March 2007 every division of E-Tech Group UK's engineering facilities has now been fully audited by SGS and have all achieved the high standards required to be included in the Group's single Quality Assurance Certification. Thanks is due to John Mills who oversaw this process, Terry Etherton of SGS for his mentoring and every member of staff at each location, without whose support this would not have been achieved. Well done everybody, lets maintain this and improve it...

Dubai International Boat Show

March 2007 saw E-Tech Group's yachting division taking part in the Dubai Boat show held at the Mina Seyahi Marina. This was the first time we had participated in this event and the descision to commit this year was to showcase the newly created divisions and to promote the agency partnerships we are cultivating.

Local Supply Orders

Local engineering firm, SLP Engineering, have awarded several sizeable supply contracts to BCD Cables & Global ES for their latest project, the Maersk Qatar accomodation module.

The contracts are for cables, lighting and other electrical bulks totalling £500k too date.

Robin Hood

E-Tech Group's Great Yarmouth repair division has been awarded another airport contract as part of the continued success in supplying and installing Ex control systems on airport fuel tank farms. Robin Hood airport (formerly Doncaster) is the latest in a long line of airports that have benefited from this new technology.

Peace In Africa

The conversion of the Dock Express 20 vessel was completed at the A&P Tyne facility in Dec 2006. The client DeBeers Diamonds, has renamed her the "Peace in Africa". She has now sailed to South Africa to have the remaining mining equipment installed before commencing work.

E-Tech Group NE were the primary sub-contractor on this project and worked closely with both client and shipyard to ensure costs, budgets and deadlines were achieved.

ACE Venturer

Following on from our recent award of the Western Spirit seismic vessel conversion at A&P Tyne we can now announce that A&P Tyne have won another seismic vessel conversion on the CGG Venturer and have awarded the electrical contract to E-Tech Group's North East trading division, Peto.

This seems to be Seismic Vessels 'R' Us at the moment. This is another very good contract to end the year with after what has been our most successful year to date in the North East.

Spirit Ready To Sail

The new cross Tyne ferry Spirit of the Tyne is due to leave the VT Halmatic boatyard to go into service on the River Tyne joining North and South Shields. E-Tech Group has carried out the full electrical design and installation on this new build project.

Total Quality

As part of E-Tech Group's commitment to continuous improvement we can now list our middle east office in Dubai as part of our single group certification. SGS have worked closely with us to establish this new level of quality assurance which ensures uniformity right accross the full group.

East or West

The 78mt seismic reserch vessell MV Eastern Spirit has arrived at A&P Tyne for an extensive refit/conversion. Originally this vessel was called the Western Spirit when built in 1993, was renamed in 2001 to the Eastern Spirit and is now being renamed Western Spirit. E-Tech Group will be carrying out the electrical engineering work in as A&P Tyne's exclusive electrical contractor. The electrical contract is valued at around £800k.

Topsides For Angola

Two minimal facility topsides for the Solha & Airoga developments in Angola are being constructed in Gt Yarmouth for Aquaterra. E-Tech Group have been awarded the contract for E&I during the Uk construction phase and the hook-up / installation phase in Angola. the development is 12 miles offshore.

Theddlethorpe Upgrade

E-Tech Group's Gt Yarmouth based electrical engineering division has been awarded a three month contract to fulfil the E&I requirements for the "Blending Management System" Upgrade for PSN / ConocoPhilips at the Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal in Lincolnshire.

E-Tech Group now on eeegr board

E-Tech Group have been active members of the East of England Energy Group (eeegr) almost since its conception and have as a result taken part in many working groups, networking events, seminars and exhibitions to promote this area's involvement in energy projects and to help formulate strategies for the future.

This was formally recognised today through the election of E-Tech's marketing director, Gary Williams to the board of eeegr. This is a position gained through votes from other eeegr members and was anounced at today's AGM. Also voted on was Martin Dronfield, Chief executive of AJS.

Margham Gas Field Success

E-Tech Gulf have been awarded two substantial contracts at the Margham Gas Field located approximately 55 Km from Dubai, Margham is Dubai’s largest onshore gas field and is a prestigious government controlled facility.

The first project is now underway and involves the upgrading of two Gas Compressor instrumentation systems. With E-Tech supplying all materials and providing a team of around thirty E&I Technicians to complete the work within an extremely tight shutdown period.

Simultaneously E-Tech are carrying out new installation work on Margham’s new Gas Storage Facility, again providing materials and manpower. The total value for the two projects is in excess of 2 million US Dollars.

Long Term Agreement Signed

After a long period of negotiation and discussions a Long Term Agreement has been signed between E-Tech Group and A&P.

This covers the exclusive provision of the electrical requirements for A&P Tyne & Tees and is expected to last for at least 5 years, and valued at many millions.

E-Tech Group and thier local division Peto Netlift have for many years worked closely with A&P Tyne & Tees and have provided a full turnkey electrical project package to most of the major works carried in the North East. The most recent being the Dock Express 20 vessel whicch is being converted into a diamond dredging ship for the De Beers group (now re-named Peace in Africa).

Superyacht Meduse

E-Tech Group's specialist superyacht division recently carried out the installation of new exterior LED and rope lighting on the 60mt Superyacht Meduse.

This project was completed in time for display at this year's Monaco Yacht Show.

The lights and the light design were supplied by Marine Lighting International and is another successful project carried out by our two companies.

Calypso Fire Damage

The Louis Cruises vessel Calypso which suffered extensive damage due to a fire originating in the engine room has been towed into Southampton for repairs.

E-Tech Group's Southampton base have been awarded the contract to strip out and replace all of the damaged cables and electrical equipment. This is estimated to take about 5 weeks with 20+ electrical engineers involved.

Echoing our Success

E-Tech Group's Plymouth office whichis located within the DML yard itself has been awarded an upgrade contract for HMS Echo totaling over £250k. This is part of our ongoing work in support of the enabling contacts on several of the Leased vessels operated by the Royal Navy.

Polar Queen Contract

The Tyneside division of E-Tech Group, Peto Netlift, has successfully secured a contract for the Ice Breaker & Cable Layer, Polar Queen.

She will be in Teesside from May to have a cable laying carousel removed and to have various other modifications and upgrades carried out.

E-Tech Winners

Despite or possibly because of some rather dubious headgear, the likes of which would cause palpitations amongst the committee at the Royal & Ancient, E-Tech's fielded team at the IDC Southern Chapter Golf Tournament 2005 held at the Dubai Creek won the day. Led by Steve Worral, E-Tech Gulf's branch manager, and supported by a team of ex pat athletes, they had no difficulty in seeing off the opposition. However they found the 19th hole a greater challenge........

Army Workboat Order

More success on the workboat front was announced this week with the securing of four new build workboats for the British Army from VT Halmatics. This is the 4th order recently from Halmatics and is a reflection of the standard of workmanship and our ability to bring these jobs in on time and in budget.

Cable for Kashagan

BCD Cables and Global ES have been a major supplier to Consafe McNulty for their ongoing project for AGIP, for the supply of 3 accommodation and process barges, currently being constructed on Tyneside, UK.

We have supplied to date almost £800k worth of cables and £250k worth of other electrical items.

A full cable management system has been operated to ensure the supply on an as needed basis is maintained to ensure cable availability matches the cardinal build programme.

BCD Cables Complete Cable Supply

BCD Cables have successfully completed the supply of cables for two Minimum Facility Platforms at the SLP fabrication yard in Lowestoft, Uk. The Kilmar and Garrow platforms have been built for ATP for the Tors field development in the North Sea. These are the latest in a long line of platforms constructed at SLP for which BCD Cables has been the primary cable supplier over the past 2 years with a total of value of cables around £400k

Mining Ship Order for North East

E-Tech Group's Northern Division, Peto Netlift have been successfull in winning a major marine contract for the conversion of the vessel Dock Express 20 into a diamond mining vessel. This contract includes stripping out old cables and equipment and resupplying new switchgear, cables, transformers & a UPS. The work will continue through to Oct 2006. This contract is worth in excess of £3.2m
